CHRIS CHIBNALL AND JODIE WHITTAKER TO LEAVE DOCTOR WHO!

Its the end, but the moment has been prepared for..... having been in charge of the TARDIS since 2017, Chris Chibnall and Jodie Whittaker are set to step away from the TARDIS in 2022!

Having already confirmed the new six-part series due to air in the autumn of this year, the BBC confirmed that three specials are planned for 2022, with the final of these being a feature-length adventure for the Thirteenth Doctors final outing!

Since being appointed as showrunner - Chris Chibnall made the shows biggest ground-breaking decision in casting Jodie Whittaker as the first female Doctor Who, 

Chibnall also introduced Tosin Cole, Mandip Gill, Bradley Walsh as the shows main companions with John Bishop being added to that list later this year.

He also introduced Sacha Dhawan as the latest incarnation of The Master and in series twelve added Jo Martin as the mysterious Fugitive Doctor bring new layers and twists to the mythology of the show.

JACOB ANDERSON IS VINDER!

 

Further casting news for the upcoming series has been announced at this years Comic-Con -  

Jacob Anderson - best known for portraying Grey Worm in Game of Thrones will join Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill and John Bishop as recurring character Vinder in Series 13!

DOCTOR WHO TO RETURN IN 2021 WITH A SIX PART EVENT SERIES!

After a year long wait, the BBC have released new details regarding the upcoming series of Doctor Who at this years Digital Comic-Con!

Series 13 is set to air in the autumn of 2021 and will be an event six part series with each chapter building to a bigger story. 

Chibnall added - 

“The big thing that we’re going to be doing this year is it’s all one story, so every episode is one chapter in a bigger story” 

After being introduced in a teaser at the end  last years New Years day special, John Bishop's character has been given a full name - Introducing Dan Lewis!

During the panel Whittaker was asked about foes in the the upcoming series - her only hint being that she’s most looking forward to “some incredible interactions with old monsters”.
