However, The Mirror has claimed that the BBC are planning to move Doctor Who back to Saturdays due to a “a steady ratings slide”.
The report states that even though the Final Ratings proved successful, the overnight figures saw a steady slide, nearly 8 million viewers turned in to see the new Doctor, however by the last episode just over 5 million viewers were watching. The series averaged 5.7 million across the 10 episodes.
Normally we would take this with a pinch of salt, however the Mirror correctly reported that Doctor Who would move to Sundays, as well as reporting that instead of a Christmas Special, we would instead see a New Years Special.
Doctor Who will return in early 2020 and see Jodie Whitaker return for her second series as the 13th Doctor - alongside companions Graham, Ryan and Yaz who will also return.
